Well done @iteachmodern It’s smart to not overburden yourself, but good to keep some tiny steps going 🙂
I thought your blog post was great, and thought maybe that would work as your email this week too. Might be good to get personal with some of those newbies on your list 🙂
You have a great week too!!

Hey @eve-buckner just found another great free site. They collate nice free images from around the web, including Unsplash, but have a great search, and nice pics that I haven’t seen overused elsewhere. Worth a look too:

Really proud of you Eve, you’re going so well! Keep up the good work!!
Re your incorrect email address: in your list if you tick the box beside the name you should get an option to delete appear.
Also if you click on their email address you’ll be taken into their details where there is an edit option and you may have been able to edit the existing email address in there. But not harm at all at this early stage. Let me know if that doesn’t work 🙂

PS: I just read this post about self-publishing by James Altucher. I LOVE James Altucher. I have 3 of his books (all the self-published ones). Thought you might find this interesting:

Perfect idea Eve!! I LOVE your idea, and agree, especially at this early stage, paying for images when there’s so many options for creating your own is probably not the best use of your resources!
It’s awesome to see you more confident with all the tools you’re using, including Canva 😉

No problem Eve 🙂
You can check out this article for a listing of some free images sources: http://www.inboundmarketingagents.com/inbound-marketing-agents-blog/bid/347828/11-totally-awesome-websites-to-source-free-images
- Unsplash #1 is great, but you’ll quickly see this is where Canva gets alot of their photos.
- I subscribe to Death to the Stock Photo #6 and they have some nice sets of photos, though not always exactly they kind you’d use.
- Also check out #10 which tells you how you can find pictures you can legally use via Google search.
You can also look at re-using the images you find or that you’ve already used in different ways. ie: adding icons or text over the top of photos; zooming in on specific parts of a photo, or just changing the colours (ie: black and white).
Another thing is don’t be afraid to keep creating graphics, like the To Kiss or not to Kiss one you did. These can work well.
The main thing would be too keep things complementary throughout your blog 🙂
